[xmlsec] 64-bit Linux link error

Hello,

I get this link error when attempting to link statically on 64-bit Linux:


/usr/bin/ld: /scratch/rhel564/lib/libxmlsec1-openssl.a(libxmlsec1_openssl_la-app.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/scratch/rhel564/lib/libxmlsec1-openssl.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
gmake: *** [xmlsecdll1] Error 1


-fPIC is set during the build for both my shared library, and xmlsec.

Any ideas?
