[xmlsec] How to verify the expiry date of a x509 certificate

Hi All,

I ve a signature.xml file which contains an x509 certificate, i want to
check the expiray date of the certificate programatically, how can i check
this ?
ny ideas ?

does xmlsec provide ny API for the same?
