[xmlsec] unable to run sign1.c

Now I tried to use xmlsec-config like as follows but it gives me error
bash xmlsec1-config --prefix=$XMLSECCROOT
--crypto=/usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.a
Error: the "/usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.a" cryptographic library is not
supported

I think there is some problem in installation of openssl .
