[xmlsec] xml digital signatures

Hi all,

This is not specifically an XMLSec library question but rather one
about XML digital signatures in general. I need to create a signed XML
document without using XMLSec. I am working in an embedded environment
and cannot afford the entire library. What I am looking to do is using
the libssl library write simple programs to create the signed
document. Can anyone give me information on exactly what part of the
XML document is actually signed?
