[xmlsec] failed:expr=xpointer(id('1234'))

Hi, there

   I want to sign a section of a XML doc so I use 

<Reference URI="#1234">

but gives me the error 
func=xmlSecXPathDataExecute:file=xpath.c:line=250:obj=unknown:subj=xmlXPtrEval:error=5:libxml2 library function failed:expr=xpointer(id('1234'))


if I use <Reference Id="#1234">  works fine, but I need to use the first
one.

Any Ideas??
