Check the xmlsec mailing list archives, around 2007 I think.
Wouter and I had tested several token-resident keys through
mscrypto CAPI and the supplier's CSP implementation under CAPI.
That is one good thing about mscrypto, hardware support is
transparent. Just pick your Windows-compliant hardware token or
smartcard. I have personally tested with the Aladdin USB eToken.
You must use mscrypto.
on the mailing list in the past. I believe it is possible
but you will need to do some manual work on loading and
configuring openssl.
Sorry, I can't give you a better answer since I never used
openssl and smart cards
myself. I can tell you that xmlsec works with smart cards
through nss and you just
need to configure nss correctly.

I'm trying to use xmlsec in a project that need to
sign a XML document. We are using openssl as the
engine.
Now, we are moving this engine to a smart card.
1 - How can i integrate the xmlsec and smart card?
2 - Is it possible to sign inside the SC?

Sorry if these are questions that you have solved
before. If yes, please, send me the solution.
